All the modern electronic computer systems understand only the binary format (also known as Base-2) which has only two possible values - 0(OFF) and 1(ON). However, each digit in Decimal number system has ten possible values - 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 - hence also known as Base-10 format.
