Each digit in Hexadecimal number system has sixteen possible values - 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F - hence also known as Base-16 format. In contrast, the Decimal number system(also known as Base-10) has ten possible values for each digit - 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
